When the shop closes for the day, the doors don't always stay shut.

A few evenings a month, Pure Poetry becomes a gathering place. Neighbors, friends and first-time visitors come together to make something with their hands, learn from a local maker, and spend an unhurried night in good company. Portia sets out a little something to nibble on, the music goes on, and the shop takes on a different kind of warmth.

These nights are close to her heart. Portia has always believed a shop can be more than a place to buy things: it can be where a community meets. Many of the workshops are led by local, women-owned businesses she admires, like Legrify Inspired Candle Company, whose Sip & Pour evenings have become a favorite. For Portia, it's a chance to share her space with the women building something of their own, and to introduce them to the people who love Pure Poetry as much as she does.
